WHAT DO YOU DO?
Our team is responsible for the safety of everyone on campus, with a goal of completing every day injury free, and we work to minimize the impact of our operations on the environment, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
In the 1960's my father was recycling newspapers when no one even talked about recycling. Then, in high school, I was impacted by the first Earth Day. When I got to college, I was ready to learn how to protect our environment.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
I never thought I would be managing people. When I was younger, women were not regarded as possible managers so I didn't even think about doing that. That lack of confidence and role models held me back for a long time.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I love feeling like what I do helps people in some way every day. Every morning I look forward to learning something new.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
Remember you can do ANYTHING you want to. Be confident in your abilities and don't let anyone tell you that you can't be successful in STEM as a girl.
