What do you do?

Developing data procedures and table design, Manage data from datasets with complex table structures, support in-house applications for design and implementation of table structures, perform space management and capacity planning for database systems.

Why did you choose this field?

It wasn't long ago that I decided to "Re-imagine" my career and direction. Like many mid-career women, it was not an easy shift so I knew I needed the right support and mentors to guide me. It was then that I realized that it was just as important for me to pay it forward and amplify my efforts in my actions and tech learning to try and be an example for others. My pass is developing ways to use data and enhance the capabilities of systems that the data.

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

I wish I knew how important it was to believe in myself years ago and how much it has given me a space and opportunity to grow and be an example for others especially women.

Why do you love working in STEM?

I call myself a data wrangler. I love creating and working with technology to improve the ways we use data and how it can help solve problems and enhance capabilities.

Best advice for next generation?

It is very important to share the stage with other women and give them the opportunity to share their knowledge and help empower them through their trials and triumphs they experience in STEM. Technology is all around us in our every day lives so I hope that women make sure they invest in themselves to be a part of the ever changing advancements technology provides us.
