WHAT DO YOU DO?
I contribute to the mission of harnessing solar energy to meet the energy demand of the entire globe. I help build robust systems to integrate Photovoltaics and storage with the grid for residential applications.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I have always been passionate about sustainability. My Doctoral research and graduate level projects also focused on integrating various forms of renewable energy sources. As an artist and nature lover, climate crisis startled me and the urgent need to help educate others while innovating inspired me to pursue these interests.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
I received a Doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering in May 2020 from one of the reputed US universities under the guidance of a renowned educator. I wish my younger self knew that I could accomplish this feat with a great deal of industry experience and multiple laurels.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I mentor undergraduate women, teach young girls coding and help facilitate programs to encourage kids to get into STEM. As a woman in the sciences, I have seen how very few women pursue advanced STEM degrees and there is a huge lack of representation. I love to address this as much as I can while I research and contribute to my field of expertise.
