What do you do?
I control satellites on a day to day basis by checking their health, payload, even performing maneuver when needed. For my Master's I'm measuring the data for ionospheric scintillation in low latitude region
Why did you choose this field?
I completed my bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I was processing GPS signals for my undergrad Final Year Project. It got me thinking, how did the satellites go into orbit? Where are they in the sky? That moment peaked my interest into studying about satellites and space systems
What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?
I was featured in a local Magazine in 2019 to inspire kids to join STEM and the space industry. Inspiring them to dream big and believe in themselves. In 2020, I was selected to be the National Point of Contact in Malaysia for SGAC
Why do you love working in STEM?
I love STEM because I have always been a curious child. I was drawn to calculations and science and I have a strong passion for teaching. I am looking forward to be a Phd holder someday and use my working experience to share my knowledge to students, in schools and universities
Best advice for next generation?
Believe in yourself. Pursue a course because you have a passion towards the subject. It may be hard at first but it will be worth it!
