Principal R&D Engineer, Boston Scientific
Never think that you are not good enough!
WHAT DO YOU DO?
I launch new medical devices to market in the endoscopy area.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
My dad is an engineer, my uncle a scientist and my mom an economist. I always wanted to solve problems, help improve patients' lives so as an engineer I knew I could be a scientist and/or engineer but also mindful with the market needs and large impact to our community.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
Going on internships as a high schooler, we don't have such opportunities where I come from but I wish I had just volunteered earlier in my career.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I like the challenge of solving a problem and implementing permanent solutions that minimize the incidence of problems or makes things even better.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
Don't let people tell you that you can't and never think that you are not good enough!
