What do you do?
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in one of the top colleges in the state. Along with teaching undergraduate students in the areas of signal processing, machine learning and deep learning, my job involves interaction with students, motivating and inspiring them to take up innovative challenges and aspire to achieve higher echelons in their lives
Why did you choose this field?
After working as a software professional for couple of years, being a people person, I realized I would be more happy to be with young minds and doing my bit of sharing my knowledge than working in industry. I wanted to be an influencer and an ideal teacher.
What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?
The joy and euphoria I experience when I see my students achieving greater feats, makes me feel I must have started earlier rather than being in software industry
Why do you love working in STEM?
Being a research scholar in the area of neuroscience and machine learning, gives me immense satisfaction when I work hands-on and solve a problem. Everyday I look forward to new challenges and learning
