WHAT DO YOU DO?
My job involves thinking about the patient and ensuring 100% product quality, efficacy and safety according the medicines regulations, ensuring compliance, managing risk, educating my colleagues and supporting them in their roles to achieve this.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
For me it was always science. Science fascinated me on a daily basis. Whilst I was in my early career and laboratory based in Quality Control, I always seemed to be asking the questions about why we have to regulate medicines, why is it so important, when did we discover that compliance was needed. I then had an opportunity to learn all about that and turn those questions into my reality. Moving into Quality Assurance and compliance was the right move for me because I then got the opportunity to educate others about this. Working as a consultant for many years I found that my passion was helping start-ups, watching them move from an innovation to a regulated manufacturer is what I feel honoured to be a part of.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
Achieving focus. With focus on your end goal, you can really so anything. Setting up my own company came from extreme focus and chanelling my passion for science.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
STEM has historically been a male orientated world, the women in STEM are powerful. I love working with innovators and all those with a passion for science.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
If you can dream it, you can do it. Do not let anyone or anything dull your focus of passion.
