Don't let people tell you it isn't cool to be in STEM.

What do you do?

We are looking at ways space technology can support and enable urban food systems.

Why did you choose this field?

I am an architect by training and a recent MSc degree in Space Studies allowed me to see ways that space resources can and do have profound impacts on some of our planet's biggest problems.

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

Entering into the space sector was something I always dreamed of, but never thought possible. I have enjoyed my career as an architect, and I am thankful for the alternative insight it brings into my new career path. It's never too late to follow your heart. Just have the courage and take the leap.

Why do you love working in STEM?

I get to see the world differently. Some of the greatest challenges we face can be tackled and overcome through STEM ingenuity.

Best advice for next generation?

Don't let people tell you it isn't cool to be in STEM. STEM careers lead to some of the coolest jobs on and off the planet: from designing spacecraft for mars to building sustainable cities to helping the planet recover with new technologies.
