I come from a family of scientists, biologists mostly. I liked science, but I wanted my impact on society and against social injustices to be more direct. I always had an interest in psychology, but as I went through grad school I fell in love with research and understanding emotional processes from a neuroscience perspective. When I saw I could use neuroscience to understand how disadvantage and adversity impact multiple generations I was sold.
