Look into STEM and if you find something that you would like to do, do it.

What do you do?

I am working as a bridge between client and development team. My work consists of understanding the needs of a client, translating them into clear and testable requirements, and communicating those to development team where we work together to bring solution to life. If I would need to define the key word for my work, it would be "questions", because not a day goes by without a significant number of questions asked by me or to me to keep the development going.

Why did you choose this field?

I got into IT field by a chance when I started my HR internship in IT company. While working in HR, I got to learn that IT field is not solemnly developers, but includes a wide variety of roles, each significant in the development process. After the internship in HR, I moved to project management, but it was during my first project when my desire to understand what we are developing and to help in shaping solutions directed me to the area of Business Analysis.

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

I wish that younger me would know that to start something new you don't need to know all the answers right away ans by heart. You can understand almost anything with the right questions and willingness to learn.

Why do you love working in STEM?

I love looking for the most efficient solutions and solving problems. There are always some things that one cannot change, for instance, technical constraints, and we need to find a way to build our solutions around them while reaching the goal.

Best advice for next generation?

To pursue it. Look into STEM and if you find something that you would like to do, do it. Passionate people with different mindsets is what is needed in STEM. Don't be afraid not to know everything. If you are passionate enough to learn and understand, you will succeed.
