WHAT DO YOU DO?
My job is to monitor and react to issues that affect the security of employees and services. This included monitoring virus alerts, vulnerability scans, approving new starter requests, approving leavers requests and approving major change requests from other teams
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I always like to get the bottom of issues and understand what happened. I have worked in IT Support for over 10 years so decided for a career change but still wanted to remain in tech. I have always had a logical and analytical mind and find an analyst role suits the way I think and work.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
To change career at any point of your life! If I knew I could have moved into Cyber Security earlier and expanded my knowledge.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
New challenges! I love new challenges and every day is different which is great for my learning.

Even if you have never worked with computers before, you can still get the opportunity if you show great passion and good attitude.
