If you believe you can do it, it appears that others don’t have much say.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I do experimental research to understand how organs form in the first place and repair themselves when injured.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?

I was mesmerized when I had a high school biology class on the genetic basis of life, DNA. I realized I want to understand how such a seemingly simple code could create life.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"

I never imagined I would be giving talks on my research and scientific ideas to hundreds of other scientists, including world renowned leaders, and discussing my science with them.

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?

I love being able to create knowledge that moves us forward as a whole. I love seeing something nobody has seen before. I love learning something new every day and never being bored. I could list many more, but these are the major reasons I love being in STEM.

BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?

I would say believe in yourself and actively look for role models and mentors who can support you. If you believe you can do it, it appears that others don’t have much say.

INSPO / FUN FACT

Everything is theoretically impossible, until it is done.
