Science communicator, freelance

We are able to create the career and lifestyle of our dreams, don't settle for less.

What do you do?

I work in the field of science communication focusing on writing content related to natural health optimization and sustainability, as well as helping other scientists to better communicate their research.

Why did you choose this field?

After finishing my PhD in Biochemistry, I realized that I'm passionate about science and communication. I always enjoyed writing and helping others improve their communication skills. I studied literature in high school and science at University, which ultimately became the perfect blend for my current job. I also chose the field of natural health and sustainability because these are topics dear to my heart and aligned with my personal values and beliefs.

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

When I was younger, I wish I knew that I can create my own career and work independently, pursuing my personal dreams and passions. I wish I knew that I can travel the world as a digital nomad and a scientist. I wish I knew the value of networking with like-minded people. I wish I knew about (and allowed myself to follow) a career in science communication.

Why do you love working in STEM?

I love seeing how scientific knowledge can be applied to our daily lives, from optimizing our health to creating a sustainable future to our planet. I wake up looking forward to talking to people and engaging in discussions about STEM both with scientists and non-scientists.

Best advice for next generation?

Don’t settle for the current paradigms and pursue your own and unique passions and dreams. We are able to create the career and lifestyle of our dreams, don't settle for less. “If you can see your path laid out in front of you step by step, you know it's not your path. Your own path you make with every step you take. That's why it's your path.” by Joseph Campbell

Inspo quote / fun fact / role model

Someone who really inspired me is Brené Brown, because she made me realize that there is no leadership, creativity and innovation without vulnerability, and this inspired me to show up and become a better version of myself and a braver leader and role model.
