Never give up.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
I’m tasked with the design, engineering and development of in-building design packages, and supporting the implementation and delivery of in-building wireless services. My job involves regular interaction with a diverse array of external stakeholders responsible for the design implementation process. In my engineering design work, I must ensure compliance with regulatory safety standards mandated by Industry Canada, CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) and other regulatory associations.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I had the opportunity to work in this line of work when I moved from Alberta to Ontario, and I feel in love with it, and have been in this field since.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
Designing IB systems for major buildings in core Toronto downtown, including a major sports stadium arena.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I love the challenge of problem solving. Everyday I go to work, I'm faced with a different set of problems, and it's always fun to solve new problems everyday.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
Never give up. If someone tells you, you can't do something, it means not only can you do it, but you can be resilient doing it too!
