Anything is possible. Find your passion and just go for it.

What do you do?

Working in Mergers and Acquisitions for a life science company, I integrate the companies Agilent acquires, into Agilent. Helping people learn a new organization, and connect within the company.

Why did you choose this field?

I love science and being in the lab. I spent most of my career selling laboratory robotics which allowed me to be in many labs, and be exposed to many types of scientific research, while helping people solve problems. Also - I love robots! I went to school for Clinical Lab Science, and what I realized was while I love being around science, I'm best with the hardware and not with the research itself. Being in sales helped me have the best of both worlds.

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

I have co-founded a Women's Networking group at Agilent Technologies, and expanded it globally. Younger me wouldn't have even known I had it in me to have such reach, or that my experience could benefit others. Giving back and mentoring other women is by far the highlight of my career.

Why do you love working in STEM?

I love seeing all of the innovative ways in which scientists problem solve! Also, the ways in which engineers develop technology to assist scientists to help solve those problems!

Best advice for next generation?

Anything is possible. Find your passion and just go for it. STEM careers and courses fulfill a sense of curiosity. I grew up being curious about how things worked (taking apart items and putting them back together) - it's no wonder I loved selling lab automation.
