Anything is possible!
WHAT DO YOU DO?
I teach college students and do research in the ecology and behavior of bats.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
My family liked to travel outdoors and I used to hunt and fish with my dad; these experiences left me with many questions regarding why animals behave like they do.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
I grew up in a very supportive environment and my parents never limited us or discouraged us from achieving difficult goals. So as a young kid I always thought everything was possible.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I love the questions, finding answers to them and the never-ending cycle of new questions-new answers which often lead to fascinating discoveries. I look forward to working with animals, in the field, with wonderful landscapes. I also love the challenge of being a positive influence in my students, particularly those in graduate programs who I work more closely with.
