High school student, National Hill View Public School, India
And - Space enthusiast. Chosen for Global STEM Scholars Program by New York Academy of Sciences
If you can dream it, you can do it.
What do you do?
I am currently studying in 11th Standard in the science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Math, Biology) and am an aerospace enthusiast.
I want to go on a space mission one day and am working hard towards that direction: at the age of 10, I completed the High School Program of Summer School of Astronomy, M. P. Birla Institute of Fundamental Research in Bangalore; in 2017 I completed a Space Launch Summer Program with Indian Space Research Organization; and at 15 was the youngest chosen participant for an International Space Conference - Asia Pacific Space Generation Workshop.
Why did you choose this field?
As a child, when I was about 3 or 4 years old I had radium stickers of the solar planets pasted on the ceiling in my room. Looking at all those bright stars, I knew I one day wanted to go to space.
What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?
I never knew I could race cars. If someone had told me a year ago I would be able to drive a Formula 4 car I wouldn’t have believed them. I wish I could go back and tell the younger me to start out on a go karting track sooner. I currently race in LGB India National Formula 4 Segment.
Why do you love working in STEM?
Science has the power to make a difference in the lives of millions. I want to have this power and that's why I want a career in STEM.
Best advice for next generation?
Never stop dreaming. Don’t believe others' words that your dreams are too big. If you can dream it, you can do it.
