What do you do?
My role with DriveWorks as Brand & Community Ambassador allows me to do what I love in a community that we are passionate about. One of my roles is to help build and support the DriveWorks presence and community in North America. In addition to this, we are support STEM Education around the world by offering opportunities for both students and industry professionals to gain additional skills in engineering with our free online DriveWorks Training and Certifications.
Why did you choose this field?
Working for DriveWorks has been an opportunity of a lifetime for me to work for a company that is not only passionate about technology but equally passionate about education and engagement of the engineering community. I've always had a passion to work with people and make a real difference in their lives; working for DriveWorks has given me this opportunity to work directly with engineers and students to teach them about design automation and engineering with DriveWorks. We are providing pathways for students and industry professionals and there is a real feeling of fulfillment to make that kind of difference in someone's life.
What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?
At 3DExperience World 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee I was awarded the "SOLIDWORKS Community Champion of the Year". This was an amazing lifetime achievement for me both professionally and personally. To be recognized by my peers for doing something I love for a business I love is something I would wish all to achieve!
Why do you love working in STEM?
Working in STEM and with DriveWorks in this effort to promote STEM to both industry professionals and students is a true passion for me. Being able to help identify and provide additional skills for people to do their existing jobs better or build up their skills for future job searching is very fulfilling. Our team works tirelessly to create free online training materials to offer for self paced learning.
When I wake up in the morning, I look forward to turning on my computer to see what I have in store for me that day and who I may engage with over the course of a week.
