I wake up every morning knowing I am going to make the world a little better than it was yesterday.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
I am the Founder of an emerging technology company. My goal is to guide our company to utilize technology for the greater good of the world. Our signature product is SEUN, an IoT device that constantly gathers and stores water data. You can think of it was a security system for your water source. We are also currently investigating it's use in detecting Covid19 in wastewater.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I chose this particular direction for my career because I wanted to impact my local community in a positive way. There are so many ways that technology can enhance our daily lives but it seems that it is not often availble to those who serverly need it. I have worked in operations and business for over 20 years, I've seen it all and I am ready to make an immense impact on the world.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
I would have looked into Distributed Ledger Technology sooner but it wasn't even invented when I attended school!
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I love the fact that I am solving real life problems using technology. I wake up every morning knowing I am going to make the world a little better than it was yesterday and be a positive influence on my two little girls.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
I hope parents expose their children to STEM at an early age. Children are naturally curious creatures, early exposure influences them and opens them up to many possibilities.
