,,

Believe in yourself. Trust your path.

What do you do?

I support, provide, direction and prioritise the waste disposals being consigned off of our radioactive waste processing site. I ensure that the demands of operations are met with the upmost technical solutions to enable the optimum disposal route to be utilised whilst balancing compliance with our permits and licences.

Why did you choose this field?

The field of environment is huge and I knew it was an area where I could always learn and develop. In my current role I have been able to combine my passion for optimised, environmentally beneficial solutions with my organisational and communication skills to ensure that waste is processed and disposed of in the best way possible. I also have the ability to develop my team members to be skill diverse, from technical assessment of waste on a radioactive and non radioactive basis, to communicating requirements for disposal with a range of people and supporting optimisation studies across the industry.

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

Providing a cradle to grave solution for a difficult piece of waste. Overseeing its assessment, presenting the data and orchestrating the workshop and report which detailed the disposal solution.

Why do you love working in STEM?

The diverse problems that are encountered and the range of solutions available. Working with a diverse community of experts and combining knowledge and experience from all fields to solve the problems in my business area.

Best advice for next generation?

Believe in yourself. Trust your path.
