Find a subject that fascinates you.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I am a PhD student studying the effects of an oncogenic fusion protein on the way long cancer cells divide. If we can better understand this process, we can try and find better therapies.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?

I chose biology at school because I was fascinated by the way our bodies function. I then studied it at university and during my research project in final year, found that I loved doing research and haven’t looked back since

WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"

Getting my acceptance onto my PhD programme. I would have been so much more confident in my abilities

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?

I love putting together the story of my research and seeing that every little experiment is part of the bigger picture

BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?

Find a subject that fascinates you and keep pushing through what may seem like a glass ceiling gl

INSPO / FUN FACT

“Nothing in this life is to be feared, only understood
It’s time we feared less and understood more.”
