WHAT DO YOU DO?
I make satellites to study the Sun and understand te effects of Space Weather on the Earth!
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I had always enjoyed nature and math. I had thought about being a medical doctor but in undergraduate I found that I really liked physics and explaining how things worked. I wasn't even sure after undergraduate what exactly I wanted to do. I took a year off and decided to pursue a space physics as it combined my desire to build things and physics.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
Working on a diverse set of things from rockets to public talks and mentoring students! It is a great variety that I didn't realize could fit all into one job!
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I love discovering new things and solving hard problems. There is such a sense of accomplishment! I look forward to talk with students and my colleagues about new projects and new data from the satellites!
