Understand and find yourself, make your own choices, be confident.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
Capacity building, education and research
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
Always wanted to become an educator and researcher. Major influence are my parents. My father was always interested in scientific research although he could not work in research institution due to financial compulsions. My mother retired as college teacher. I always saw her drawing lots of satisfaction when her students did good in life. That satisfaction of playing a miniscule role in somebody's life to either change or guide someone is something which I feel the best reward a teacher gets.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
The journey I had covered so far by contributing in my small way for breaking few stereotypes and finding my own path.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I look forward to be able to bring some change in society towards their treatment of women in general and helping women to find themselves. I do not mind if my contribution is small but if it helps even a few women and their lives, I will get my reward.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
Understand and find yourself, make your own choices, be confident , respect and love yourself.
