What do you do?
As Director of a higher education institution, I am responsible for ensuring the quality of training and for coordinating and controlling all of its activity programs. I am also a teacher-researcher in mathematics.
Why did you choose this field?
First of all, I am a teacher and my happiness is to transmit knowledge to new generations.I chose to study mathematics because it is a subject that fascinated me from school. For me mathematic is a science that reveals absolute truth. When doing research in mathematics, the results obtained are indisputable forever.
What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?
I was privileged to have had the opportunity to do intense research for six months. What has been magic is when, starting from a complex question whose outcome we cannot imagine, over the months our team has broken down the problem to obtain surprising results at the end. We got our own theorem and we read it all over the world through these results.
I think I succeeded in my studies, thanks to the dreams of a little girl who accompanied me in life, and which turned into goals to reach.
Why do you love working in STEM?
Objectivity and truth.
The Cartesian approach: breaking down a complex problem into simple elements; construct complex ideas by deduction from simple or intuitive objects.
Best advice for next generation?
Working hard is the only way to success. Avoid easy solutions that do not go far. Avoid the beaten track.
Love the truth. Intelligence has no gender.
