WHAT DO YOU DO?
I am a PhD Students studying transportation engineering at the University of Delaware. I do research that focuses on smart mobility to improve in efficiency, convenience, comfort, and safety in Transportation Networks.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I got interested in Transportation Engineering when I did my Bachler and had to do a small research project for the year. I found it interesting because I have lived all my life in metropolitans where we have always faced a dramatic increase in the rate of accidental death. This research allowed me to think more broadly and found out I can use my creativity to go about solving the problem in this field to help improve global transportation systems.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
I wish I had been more confident when I was younger. I would’ve grabbed more opportunities and reached to my achievement sooner.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I’m really enjoying what I’m working on, I feel like I could carry on non-stop, because I just want to keep finding out more and making sense of all the different things I’m coming across. It might sound weird or big-headed, but I really enjoy the idea of sharing knowledge and hopefully inspiring other people to think about things differently or enjoy new things.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
you should always remember never is late for the fresh start. Just try to trust yourself and never give up.
