Experiment & try things before you decide what you want to do.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I work with the best of the best of experts worldwide to make location information more findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?

I was attracted by the fact that location spans everything. Every event happens somewhere, so I get to get exposed to so many domains and problems where location makes a difference.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"

Receiving a diversity award at an international conference last year was one of those eye opening moments, and something I'd liked to tell my younger self to motivate and inspire her (and give her hope!)

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?

I love engineering and building things, and making an impact. I love working in STEM because especially these days, learning does not stop, and innovation is the name of the game! The thrill of working in such an environment is what I wake up looking forward to!

BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?

Experiment, try things before you decide what you want to do, you never know if it's STEM or not if you don't try first.
