WHAT DO YOU DO?
I deal with satellite data. Basically working on the image by Understanding, analyzing, and applying various techniques that help in decision making. Although, the analysis depends on what application we are focusing on. Currently, I am working on Agri- domain, monitoring crops by understanding is patterns and behavior from sowing till harvesting which is further given to decision-makers in the financial sector.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
As a kid, I was interested in Science and technology, especially like most other kids in school my most interest was in Space science. And I always envied A.P.J. Abdul Kalam sir, he was my role model. I did Electronics and communication, where I planned to focus on satellite communication. It was then, during my graduation, I started getting interested in Remote Sensing and pursued my post-graduation in Earth observation with a specialization in Geoinformatics. Well, now I feel I have achieved my childhood interest as my profession now is studying our Earth from Space through Satellite data.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
When I was younger, I was not much interested in geography. But now being in the field of Geospatial domain I realized that its much fun and interesting subject to learn.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
In this current digital era, STEM plays an important role, when it comes to innovation, and problem-solving. Now, we are focusing on a sustainable future. And I am excited to be a part of this creation of sustainable future.
