If you like it, do it! Don't let anyone stop you.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
I am a scientist that loves seaweed. I am trying to find ways to use it as a sustainable biofuel.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I love being outdoors, exploring and teaching. I started field studies education in the UAE however as fun as it was, I wanted to know more and do more. Teaching at such a level wasn't enough for me.
I applied for a scientific expedition with Operation Wallacea Dominica where I could get field work, research and teaching done. Here I truly realised why I had to do my PhD to lecture in Universities.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
Living away from home. I think younger me, was scared of being away from my parents. I wanted to travel, but never in a million years did I think I would have travelled half-way across the world by myself.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
STEM is the future! By working in StEM you are helping to shape your future and the future of thousands, millions or even billions.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
Don't give up, do not take no for an answer. If you like it, do it! Don't let anyone stop you.
