What do you do?
I am a final year computer system engineer and an AI, Data enthusiast. I'm currently a full-time co-coordinator and developer at a company who has outsourced me for a startup project. I am coordinating team from various location in my own country and also outside the country. I have also developed my skills in data handling, data transformation.
Why did you choose this field?
I was good in my academics, never had pressure from my parents but I had this urge that I wanted to develop and work in new technology. I did not chose this field by choice. It was a very fortunate accident that I could not select Electrical engineering by 5 marks. So I opted for the next best field, and I fell in love with the challenge. After that I never once thought to change my career field. My interest still lies in managerial position but that too requiring some technical background.
What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?
I would have liked to publish 1-2 research papers in my interest fields. Although the process is said to be very straight forward. I wish I knew the benefit of researching a particular background and how it could possibly widen my horizon. I still can but it's kind of hard to manage time with a full time studies and a full time remote job all along with your final year project.
Why do you love working in STEM?
The first thing I do when I wake up is look at my news feed for any new technology developements. STEM never seizes to amaze me. It's continuous development and the challenge to keep up with those developments has always been a huge focus of my life.
Best advice for next generation?
After enrolling for my majors in Computer Engineering, there has never been a day that I thought my life was boring. STEM always encourages you to think out of the box, on your feet. For people who have the passion and willingness to do something challenging and good in their life they should definitely pursue STEM
