Ask the questions that you want answered.

What do you do?

I investigate how social relationships form and how they affect our biology throughout our lives

Why did you choose this field?

I think partially it was because I had such wonderful, positive, and formative social relationships throughout life. I love people and I love love and that is why I wanted to study them and learn (and teach the world) more about them!

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

To receive a national science foundation fellowship and to make a career out of asking interesting questions and supporting other young scientists to do the same.

Why do you love working in STEM?

I love being able to answer questions I find interesting, and I am so grateful to be able to help others to do the same. I genuinely feel like I am making a difference.

Best advice for next generation?

Ask the questions that YOU want answered. Your perspective is not just valid, it is important. Don't forget perseverance and passion are the most integral aspects of scientific endeavor.
