STEM is the future.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I have over 15 years of experience working in medical device regulatory affairs. Prior to forming LRA Consulting, I worked for several large medical device companies where I was responsible for both domestic and international product submissions for a wide range of technologies. I was instrumental throughout the product lifecycle for several new product development projects that have been successfully made available in multiple markets around the world. I am an internal auditor certificate holder and well versed in quality systems.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?

I’ve always had a passion for helping people. Starting out in production for a medical device company gave me the building blocks regarding patient health. Moving into Regulatory Affairs I found my purpose. After navigating through the regulatory ranks, I decided to obtain my masters degree in Regulatory Affairs to further my career.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"

I would have obtained my bachelors degree in public health or another health related field before obtaining my masters in regulatory.

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?

I love science and research. Everyday is different for me. Learning a new technology or system that could help save a life or make someone’s quality of life better makes me want to do my job everyday.

BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?

STEM is the future. Never stop going for your dreams. Seek a mentor if you can and stay abreast of current industry standards related to your field of interest. Don’t wait for someone to tell you to do it, just go out and do it...for yourself!
