Data Analyst, Loyola University Chicago
Be bold and make those radical choices.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
I work with data to come up with solutions that bring in business value to the clients.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I like to think of data as 'information' and information and I think this 'information' can be utilized especially in current times to bring in the greatest good and drive social and economical change. I love seeing the world through numbers and especially through trends.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
I think, knowing the fact that age is just a number and, that you shouldn't put off doing things just because it is not age-appropriate. My biggest leap to overcome this when I decided to get my Master's and finish it by the age of 22.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
I think the ability to see the world through trends and being able to know the cause-and-effect of the things around really fascinates me. The fact that we can solve the world's most significant problems if we really put our minds behind them and solve them with data-driven answers makes me keep going.
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
I would suggest they to be BOLD and make those radical choices and, have confidence in themselves. I was able to make a transition from humanities to STEM with that thought in mind.
