WHAT DO YOU DO?
I make tech work for the "no-tech" population. In my role as a CTO of a social enterprise Aeloi, we build fintech solutions mainly designed for green grassroots women microentrepreneurs to help them access affordable finance to grow their businesses.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I am the daughter of a former microentrepreneur and I have seen in my family how important it is to have access to affordable finance to grow a prosperous family and thus economy. The reason for starting Aeloi is to make sure many other informal sector microentrepreneurs get the same financial access that my family once had to grow their businesses.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
There is nothing called perfection and it is relative. I have realized, I have stopped myself for a lot of things or opportunities thinking I will be less than perfect.
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
There is nothing you cannot achieve by working in STEM. I always look forward to making sure technology becoming the tool to excel and not a barrier to many (who currently have no access to technology)
BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?
There are millions of problems in the world today and almost all of them can be solved using STEM. STEM is a universe with no boundaries, just like your potential. Go for it: BUILD, SOLVE, THRIVE!
