WHAT DO YOU DO?
I cofounded MarketOrders, a B2B marketplace for the gold & diamond jewellery industry. My role as Chief Operating Officer (COO) involves overseeing the business operations of the business which include product development, marketing and revenue strategy.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?
I never thought of myself as a business person or entrepreneur and fell into this accidentally! I had always thought I would work for a large organisation (which I did for over a decade) but found I excelled in my strengths which included creativity, innovation and technology which led me to the path I am currently on.
WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"
I am proud to have persevered through several false starts when starting my business and have built a global team and raised funding for my venture. All things I thought I would never do!
WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?
STEM is the future and is the perfect combination of skillsets that each human being innately has. We are all naturally curious and creative and STEM allows us to explore this side of our personalities and creates life-changing products and services that change and moulds the world we live in. Working in STEM allows you to have a voice and contribute to the new world we find ourselves in.
