Be persistent and never stop being curious.

What do you do?

I help clients understand and leverage their innovation and patents, using AI.

Why did you choose this field?

I have always been a "translator" between highly technical engineering and programming and business applications. I also get bored, so I have done many things from the my beginning days of CAD/CAM, engineering and construction to working in mapping applications to focusing on product development processes and innovation. So expanding to Intellectual Property (IP) was an easy jump. And being able to continually learn and apply new technologies like AI and blockchain to IP processes was a natural move.

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

I have 2 patents filed and several more proposed. Never stop learning and pushing the envelope.

Why do you love working in STEM?

I love the logic and the problem solving in STEM and the opportunity to continually learn new technologies and apply them immediately. I wake up looking forward to the next challenge!

Best advice for next generation?

Be persistent and never stop being curious. Do not be afraid to fail, but learn and get better.
