Follow your passion, set realistic goals and look at the transferable skills you can gain.

What do you do?

I research and apply technology for wildlife conservation. I also communicate my science.

Why did you choose this field?

I simply followed my passion. I loved marine wildlife since I was a little girl growing up on a farm. I speak about this in my TedXMelbourne talk last year.

What do you look at and think, "I wish younger me would have known this was possible"?

When I was selected as a global expert to speak at the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation in Rome, Italy. Also, when I represented Australia international in a science communication competition and placed second.

Why do you love working in STEM?

I want to help inspire others, especially young girls into following their passion.

Best advice for next generation?

Follow your passion, set realistic goals and look at the transferable skills you can gain by entering into your field of choice.
