,,

This is your chance to use what you have learnt in STEM lessons at school and apply it to the world.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

My team and I manage all engineering changes to products and processes associated with our orthopaedic products

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?

I chose mechanical engineering as a career after attending a WISE course at Imperial College, London during my A levels and realised this was the job for me. I've worked in different fields but love medical devices as I know the product has a direct influence on someone's life.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"

Solar panels and wind turbines. I remember calculating the size of blades needed at Uni and being given the impression that they were too big to make - now look at us!

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?

Never knowing exactly what you're going to find out

BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?

Go for it! There are challenges ahead but with good work friends who make you laugh and supporting mentors, you find it so rewarding! This is your chance to use what you have learnt in STEM lessons at school and apply it to the world.

INSPO / FUN FACT

We don't employ smart people to tell them what to do, we employ them to tell us what to do
