You are smart and you will rise to the challenge.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

I develop materials for clean energy systems. Specifically I look at replacing the rare and expensive metals with cheaper and more sustainable options.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS FIELD?

I chose this field because I am very passionate to use my knowledge to help fight against climate change and make a difference.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK AT & THINK, "I WISH YOUNGER ME WOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS POSSIBLE?"

I wish younger me believed that I was capable of pursing a PhD so I could have appreciated and worked harder in my undergraduate degree.

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING IN STEM?

I love working in STEM because I love learning new things about how the universe works. I like going to school everyday and learning something new and exciting that I didn't know the day before.

BEST ADVICE FOR NEXT GENERATION?

The best advice I could give is never doubt your abilities. Whether self inflicted doubt or someone else doubting you. You are smart and you will rise to the challenge.

INSPO / FUN FACT

“Don't let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity. It's your place in the world; it's your life. Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live.” - Mae Jemison
